Introducing the One the Only... ME!!

I am Rebekah Blocker; Gilmore Girl addict, nerd, musical theatre maniac, and tea lover

I am sixteen years old. I live in Fort Collins, Colorado and I am a junior in High School.

(this part is updated since the original post, I was fifteen and a freshman at the time)

I was so excited to start my blog that I forgot to write about who I am... I don't think anyone would read my blog without know who the author is... If you want to know anything about me, you can probably find it here!!

The starting of this blog is a sheer whim. I was walking home from school today and was thinking deep thoughts. I also was not able to be on the school newspaper. I was really lazy this summer and when I asked one of my friends, who writes for the paper, she said that there had been a program you have to to take over the summer to get on staff . So.... I'm basically out of luck on that option for my writing fill. Voila!!! A blog was born! I technically have one more reason but that needs its long explanation.

Where I come from:

I was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, and raised in Waco, Texas (fixer upper show town) until the age of 9 when we moved to Fort Collins, Colorado. We've lived here over 5 years!!

My classes this year are French, Choir, Acting, Geometry, History, English, and Biology. My favorite classes right now are History, English, Choir, and Acting. In English, we are listening to a really cool podcast called Serial. In Acting, we are putting on a show called “Little Red Robin Hood” and I am playing one of the three little pigs. I also just finished the cross country season (today!)

Family:

I think that this is probably one of the most important sections because I mention my family A LOT!! I live with my parents, an older brother (Ryan, age 17) a younger brother (Jacob, age 13) and younger sister (Halle, age 10). I also can't forget my adorable dog, Scout!! My dad actually named him after the girl Scout in "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. We have a lot of bookworms in the family...

Mom - She is the cook in the family. She makes so much food!! She also works for my uncle. I have no idea what this means but... "She buys and sells mineral acquisitions." as a job. She and I have a special bonding time where we watch Gilmore Girls together. (if you haven't seen the show.... YOU ARE MISSING OUT!!)

Dad - He is a CSU Business and Marketing Professor. He and I share a special connection over books.

Ryan - He is our engineer, editor, gamer, videographer. You can always find him editing a photo on a computer, or he's playing one of the games off of the many game systems he bought

Jacob - He is my "bud." We are the closest in age and we kind of share the middle child role. So, we talk about books, Hamilton the Musical, and the books we are writing

Halle - She is my little sister. Halle plays the piano (3 years) she sings in choir, and is in running club. It's so cute when she comes home and talks really fast about how great her day was.

Favorites -

Color - Yellow and Green

Season: Fall

Food - probably mashed potatoes….? (I love all food)

Drink - Sonic frozen cherry limeade

Snacks - Cheetos, Takis, fruit snacks, corn nuts, Oreos

Candy - Mike and Ike's, Nerds, every other type of candy I couldn’t think of (those were just the two of the top of my head

My favorite restaurants are Chick-fil-a, Noodles & Company, and Rush Bowls (smoothie place)

Hobbies - running, reading, baking, calligraphy, watercolor, drawing, history, singing

When I grow up, the jobs I would love to have - History Teacher, School Counselor, or a Marine Biologist

I run Cross country in the fall and Track in the spring (I do the 800', hurdles, and long jump)

The college I want to go to - I want to go to Colorado State University (CSU)
